We created a petition that's purpose is to stop deforestation in Loudoun. Through our petition, we will contact the Loudoun County Board of Advisors and try to create an ordinance. The ordinance being, “for every 5 trees cut down 1 must be planted (tree growth and loss must be logged).”
Many of the the homeowners in Loudoun have families, so we will try to convince people to plant a tree for every special occasion (birthdays, graduations, anniversaries, etc). This way, people will have a great and eco-friendly way of remembering that special event. If the take a picture of the tree they planted and send us an email of it (they have to tell us what the event is) , we will give them a pen to proudly use with the slogan “Help end deforestation on every occasion.” People will be helping the environment while having fun.
